Spikes Asia, Asia’s most prestigious awards for creativity, will announce the Grand Prix and Special Award winners on the Spikes Unwrapped webpage on Thursday the 4th of March at 8 AM Singapore time. In total, 58 Gold Spikes were awarded, with Australian and New Zealand agencies scoring a little over half of the Golds handed out.
Australia scored 21 Gold Awards led by Saatchi & Saatchi Sydney (7), CHE Proximity Melbourne (4), Ogilvy Sydney (2), Special Group Sydney (2) and VMLY&R Melbourne (2). Single Gold Spikes went to Thinkerbell Melbourne, TBWA Sydney, SDWM Melbourne and DDB Sydney.
New Zealand picked up 10 Gold Spikes shared by Colenso BBDO Auckland (3), Special Group Auckland (3), DDB New Zealand (3) and TBWA Auckland (1).
India and Thailand lead the Gold performers from Asia.India has 7 Gold Spikes lead by Dentsu Webchutney with 3. DDB Mudra Mumbai, Taproot Mumbai, Cheil India, and FCB India all won single Gold Spikes.
Thailand also picked up 7 Gold Spikes lead by Wunderman Thompson Bangkok with 4 Golds for their Thai Airways “Stay Home Miles Exchange” campaign. Wolf Bangkok won 2 Golds for “Shop Unfriend” for the Central Midnight Sale. Sour Bangkok also were awarded a Gold.
Japan has taken home 6 Golds — 5 to Dentsu Tokyo and 1 to ADK Tokyo.
Singapore picked up 3 Gold Spikes. All were awarded to Ogilvy Singapore for their “Please Arrest Me” gender equality campaign for RIT Foundation.
Malaysia scored 2 Gold Spikes — one each to GREY Malaysia for WWF “Your Plastic Diet” and Ensemble Malaysia for “Land of Light” for Petronas.
Taiwan and Pakistan were awarded 1 Gold each with Ogilvy Taiwan (Vogue Uni-Form) and Ogilvy Pakistan (Telenor — Naming the Invisible by Digital Birth Registration) both successful.
