Sambit Mohanty returns to McCann, takes over as Creative Head South

McCann Worldgroup India has appointed Sambit Mohanty head of creative for South India. Prior to returning to McCann, where in 2012, he was Executive Creative Director, Mohanty was National Creative Director at Wunderman Thompson.    

Ashish Chakravarty, Executive Director and Head of Creative, India, said, “Sambit is a fantastic new addition to our creative firepower in the South. He is among those rare talents, who wield traditional, and new media with equal flair. And his very self-assured leadership style inspires great confidence in clients, as well as creative teams. Insanely well read, much awarded, and crazy fun to party with, I am confident that with Sambit at its creative helm, we will be hearing a lot more crackle from our South operations.”   

Mohanty’s reporting boss, Dileep Ashoka, Head — South India Operations, McCann Worldgroup India, said, “We are very happy to have Sambit join us in Bangalore. His creative leadership will add further impetus to a strong and well-oiled machine that we already have in the South. He brings with him the right mix of qualities that will work as a multiplier force to the talent and hunger we already have. We all look forward to our future together.”

An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Mass Communication, Mohanty has earlier worked with Lowe Lintas, DDB Mudra, Leo Burnett, and Elephant Design.
