50 Years ago, Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first two people on the Moon. Commander Neil Armstrong and pilot Buzz Aldrin landed the Apollo Lunar Module Eagle on the Moon on July 20, 1969 at at 20:17 UTC. This certainly was a defining moment for America, to show their advancement in technology and resources by taking the next step towards space exploration and in the process establishing superiority over other nations.
