TBWA\Media Arts Lab names Lu Borges as Chief Communications Officer

TBWA\Media Arts Lab, the specialized agency for Apple, has appointed Lu Borges as its new Chief Communications Officer. Borges, based at the agency’s Los Angeles headquarters, will take on a global role supervising all communication aspects across the agency’s seven worldwide hubs. Reporting directly to CEO Katrien De Bauw, she will lead teams accountable for both internal and external communications.

With nearly two decades of experience in creative agencies, Borges previously served as the Head of Brand and Communications at MullenLowe U.S. During her tenure, she orchestrated the agency’s global rebrand, modernizing its “Challenger Octopus” logo into a contemporary, abstract, and flexible identity. Additionally, Borges played pivotal roles in shaping and enhancing the reputation of Australia’s most effective and creative agency, BMF, and the esteemed Spanish agency, Shackleton (now Accenture Song).

“Lu is sharp, talented, kind, and unafraid, and her understanding of creativity and culture will undoubtedly add great value for our client and elevate our agency,” said Katrien De Bauw.

Borges added: “I have long admired Media Arts Lab and how its bespoke creations for Apple have consistently raised the creative bar and impacted culture. I couldn’t be more excited to play a role in shaping the agency’s evolution alongside Katrien, Brent, and such a talented group of people.”
