Nissan has named Blanca Garcia as Vice-President, Communications for Nissan in Asia and Oceania. Garcia, who will be based in Bangkok, will report to Yutaka Sanada, MC Chairman and Head of Nissan in Asia and Oceania.
Hailing from Mexico City and fluent in English, French, Spanish, and Greek, Garcia has over 25 years of communications experience across continents and in her last role headed Nissan’s communications in Latin America.
Garcia, who holds European and Mexican nationalities, first joined Nissan in 2014 to head internal communications at Nissan Europe and external communications at the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance. She also led the communications team for Nissan in Mexico, a strategic and key market in the company’s global manufacturing operations.
Before joining Nissan, Garcia was Managing Director of a market research company, ran the PR network serving an international airline in 42 countries, and was also a communications consultant for the European Union.
Garcia, named by the business monthly, Expansion, as one of the most powerful women of 2019, replaces Dr. Lavanya Wadgaonkar, who will now be General Manager & Head, Global Corporate Communications for Nissan.
