Twitter has launched a slew of product, policy, and enforcement updates that have been drawn from global and Indian elections for the assembly elections of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and West Bengal.
A global cross-functional team at the microblogging site with local, language and cultural expertise will run โelection integrityโ and ensure that the service is safe from attempts of โmanipulationโ on the platform and clamp down on content that can โtrigger violence and abuseโ.
The microblogging giant said in a blog post that its diligence team will delete any post that โmanipulates and spreads misinformationโ regarding the elections. Twitter has earlier said it had deployed tools to โdetect and identify abusive content and postsโ that are most likely to cause harm. These posts are reviewed first by a specialised team.
