The Monkeys Sydney and Leo Burnett Manila Secure Major Victories at ONE Asia 2023

On behalf of The Government of Tuvalu, The Monkeys Sydney clinched the Best of Show award for their groundbreaking project “The First Digital Nation,” at the ONE Asia Creative Awards 2023. Developed in collaboration with Collider Sydney, Thrive PR + Communications, and MassiveMusic Sydney. Additionally, this remarkable work received recognition with Best of Discipline accolades in Creative Effectiveness and Public Relations, securing two Golds and a Merit in the process.

Also with a strong showing this year was Leo Burnett Group Manila Makati working with Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) Makati, the agency was awarded three Best of Disciplines wins – in Direct Marketing, Gaming, and Social Media – for “Unbranded Menu” on behalf of McDonald’s.

The total wins for Leo Burnett Group Manila — three Best of Disciplines, four Golds, two Silvers, and a Bronze — made them Agency of the Year in the first annual ONE Asia Creative Awards Rankings.

The complete list of ONE Asia 2023 Best of Discipline winners, as decided by a jury of 40 creative leaders from 14 APAC countries and regions, is as follows.

  • Direct Marketing: Leo Burnett Group Manila Makati with Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) Makati “Unbranded Menu” for McDonald’s
  • Film & Video: SIX inc. Tokyo with good design company Tokyo, Hakuhodo Tokyo, and Hakuhodo Kettle Tokyo “A Train of Memories” for Sotetsu Holdings
  • Gaming: Leo Burnett Group Manila Makati with Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) Makati “Unbranded Menu” for McDonald’s
  • Interactive, Online & Mobile:  CHEP Network Sydney with Sonar Music Sydney, The Editors  Sydney, and The Sweetshop Sydney “Flipvertising” for Samsung
  • Moving Image Craft & Production: SIX inc. Tokyo with good design company Tokyo, Hakuhodo Tokyo, and Hakuhodo Kettle Tokyo “A Train of Memories” for Sotetsu Holdings
  • Public Relations: The Monkeys Sydney with Collider Sydney, Thrive PR + Communications Sydney and MassiveMusic Sydney “The First Digital Nation” for The Government of Tuvalu

The single highest-ranked work was “Unbranded Menu” by Leo Burnett Group Manila Makati with Golden Arches Development Corporation (McDonald’s Philippines) Makati for McDonald’s.

The ONE Asia Rankings for creative individuals was a three-way tie for first between Earl John Diaz, social media manager, Stephanie Tan, art director , and Sofia Tawasil, copywriter, who are all part of the Leo Burnett Group Manila team.

The top-ranked countries and regions are, in order: Australia, Philippines, Japan, India, Thailand, South Korea, Singapore, China, Chinese Taipei, Vietnam, Indonesia, and New Zealand.
