Asha Kharga is Chief customer and brand officer, Mahindra Group

Asha Kharga, former executive vice president and group chief marketing officer at Axis bank has joined Mahindra Group, an Indian multinational conglomerate company as Chief customer and brand officer. The announcement was made through her LinkedIn handle.

Kharga, a marketing professional who is passionate about building brands, started off her career journey in 1998 as Key Account Manager at TBWA. Later on she moved to JWT as Account Planning Manager, where she managed brands like Lux and Closeup. She was also the Account Director at Leo Burnett Group where she was responsible for   heading the Tide India business and partnering with the client in terms of strategic thinking, consumer insights for product development and leading communication development.

She has also served Unilever for eight years, where she started off as Senior Brand Development Manager in 2008. In 2010, she got promoted to Marketing Manager, later in 2012, she became the Marketing Head where she led the first ever launch of Unilever’s global corporate brand in India on the sustainability platform through a strategic initiative called ‘Project Sunlight’. She has also worked in formulation and implementation of customer centric corporate strategies at Unilever. At Axis Bank, she was responsible for creating & implementing marketing strategies that lead to increased awareness, consideration, revenue and ultimately brand trust.
