Ameya Velankar is Head of Marketing for India South Asia, Uber

An American technology company which provides various services of ride-hailing, food delivery, package delivery, couriers, freight transportation, Uber, has appointed Ameya Velankar as Head of Marketing, for India and South Asia region. Velankar will be working closely with the India SA leadership team to consolidate Uber’s growing presence in these strategic markets and further strengthen the brand Uber.

Welcoming Velankar to the team, Prabhjeet Singh, president, Uber India South Asia, said, “We are delighted as Ameya takes on his new role as head of marketing for INSA. Ameya has had a fantastic track record with Uber since 2019, and I am confident that he will help us build a stronger, diverse and more engaged marketing team. Velankar is a seasoned marketing professional with over 13 years of experience in Marketing, Sales & Operations across different geographies. He has 8 years of marketing experience across brand & commercial strategy, category PnL management, consumer insights, digital & growth marketing. His core expertise lies in digital marketing, growth hacking, product marketing, consumer insights, brand building, PnL management. He started off as Area Manager at RPG Enterprises and later moved to Marico Limited and worked as ASM-WUP, ASM- Modern Trade North, Brand Manager- Parachute advansed body lotion, Group Product Manager and Group Product Head. He has also worked as Category Head at SC Johnson and then moved to Uber.
