OpenAI has appointed Vasundhara Mudgil as its India Communications Lead, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion and strategic focus on the Indian market. Mudgil, a seasoned communications professional with nearly two decades of experience, brings a wealth of expertise to her new role, having previously led communications and market growth strategies for global brands like Spotify and Intel.
Mudgil’s appointment underscores OpenAI’s commitment to building a strong narrative and local engagement framework in India, a country emerging as a crucial market for AI development and adoption. Her experience in corporate communications, brand strategy, and media relations will be invaluable in shaping OpenAI’s communications strategy in the region.
Prior to joining OpenAI, Mudgil spent seven years at Spotify, where she played a key role in shaping the company’s communications and market growth strategy in India. She also held leadership roles at Intel and Genesis Burson-Marsteller, honing her skills in media relations, strategic communication, and crisis management.
