NDTV has appointed Koreel Lahiri as its new Chief of Strategy and Innovation, strengthening the network’s leadership bench at a pivotal moment for India’s rapidly evolving news ecosystem. Lahiri’s appointment signals NDTV’s intent to accelerate digital transformation, sharpen editorial innovation, and explore new growth pathways across platforms.
Lahiri brings a rich blend of newsroom, corporate, and investment experience. He has previously held leadership roles in financial journalism at Bloomberg TV India and CNBC TV18, where he helped shape business news coverage and programming strategy. His strong editorial grounding is complemented by his tenure in corporate strategy at The Times Group, giving him a deep understanding of audience behaviour, media economics, and brand-building at scale.
Before joining NDTV, Lahiri served as Investment Director – Asia at MDIF, a global media development investment fund, leading regional investment strategy. His work involved supporting independent media organisations across Asia, giving him a strategic vantage point on sustainable media models and the future of digital-first journalism.
In his new role, Lahiri is expected to steer long-term strategic direction, strengthen innovation across content and technology, and help NDTV expand its footprint in a competitive, digitally driven news landscape.
