Maintaining its lively energy until the year’s end, KFC flips the script on the “Free Delivery” campaign with the innovative “KFC Bucket Billboard,” crafted alongside Wunderman Thompson Thailand. Delicately placed mini-billboards, cleverly hidden within the iconic KFC chicken buckets, adorn neighborhood locales, enticing locals to the brand’s free delivery service. Strategically stationed beneath office towers and residential areas throughout Bangkok, these buckets serve as captivating hubs, sparking engaging discussions among both offline and online consumers. Their placement at food pickup spots adds an enchanting touch, igniting conversations and excitement about KFC’s offerings.

KFC strategically unveiled its โFree Deliveryโ campaign during these year-end festivities โ a time when people joyfully gather with their families and friends โ and what better way to enjoy the vacation than to add to the convenience of finger licking mealtimes, freshly prepared and delivered to your door. Meticulously crafted to stir up lively conversations, particularly online, the dazzling miniature โKFC Bucket Billboardsโ illuminate in the dark with the message โKFC Free Deliveryโ.
Examples include: โWanna pick me up instead? Cause now Iโm Free..Delivery.โ ; โNo idea about the others, but KFC has Free Delivery.โ ; โPicking up something? Pick KFC Free Delivery.โ ; and โDonโt wanna be here, wanna be with you โ with KFC Free Delivery.โ
Park Wannasiri, Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of Wunderman Thompson Thailand, and lead creative partner to KFC, delved deep into how this innovative campaign came to be, expressing that The KFC Bucket Billboard involves hijacking pickup points under buildings throughout Bangkok, creating out-of-home ambient ads. The project aims to capture attention with miniature billboards tucked inside KFCโs iconic chicken buckets, ensuring visibility that everyone couldnโt ignore.

The mystery concept of KFCโs Bucket Billboard is undeniably โeye-catchingโ, and piques curiosity by the very nature of its placement. As individuals within office buildings and residential complexes order meals, the centralized โpickup pointsโ are unavoidable, ensuring extensive exposure and far-reaching talkability.
โWe created these miniature billboards to resemble giant billboards down to the minutest detail, deliberately wanting them to jump out right into the limelight โ precisely during these crucial times, brightly burning KFC on everyoneโs mind,โ says Wannasari.
The innovative KFC Bucket Billboards have garnered substantial attention since its launch in November, prompting people to capture and share photos on various social media platforms.

KFC Thailandโs Chief Marketing Officer, Suhayl Limbada, championed this innovative campaign, stating, โAs a top-ranked fried chicken brand that has secured the hearts of many, we are devoted to crafting uniquely new experiences for our customers through creative, delectable, and unexpected ideas. Our goal is to provide experiences that resonate with distinctiveness, echoing the brandโs joyful and accessible nature for all, as well as its profound understanding of its fans. Not only does the campaign align with the brandโs personality but it also genuinely reflects the brandโs intention to make it the New Yearโs gift for everyone, contributing to the joyous moments during the festive season.โ says Limbada.
KFC has once again staked its well-deserved claim as the trailblazer, treading an unbroken stride of โtop formโ campaigns that nod to its expertise in marketing communication, infused with a burst of fresh ideas. With these playful messages, KFC has transcended its role as just a restaurant, evolving into a sprawling community where it is not deemed just a brand but cherished as โclose friendsโ by consumers โ as evidenced by a staggering 59 million and counting followers on the Facebook fanpage.
