Ajit Varghese has been appointed as Head of Revenue, Entertainment, and International for the newly launched Reliance-Disney joint venture, where he will drive revenue growth and strengthen the JV’s position in India’s competitive media landscape. With extensive experience in media advertising, strategic partnerships, and revenue generation, Varghese is ideally positioned to lead this venture forward. Previously, he managed Network Advertising Sales at Disney Star, bringing valuable insight and expertise to his new role.
Varghese will be supported by a seasoned leadership team. Mahesh Shetty will lead Large Client Sales (LCS), crafting strategies to engage key clients and maximize audience reach across platforms. Dhruv Dhawan will head digital growth, focusing on regional engagement, particularly targeting mid-tier and emerging client segments. Shubhra Sethi will oversee an integrated ad sales approach, bridging television and digital to create a unified entertainment strategy. Kingshuk Mitra will focus on enhancing brand value, while Sudhir Nagpal will drive the JV’s international growth, extending reach and revenue streams beyond India.
Varghese brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously boosted advertising revenues for Disney Star’s television and digital platforms with innovative solutions that appeal to both audiences and advertisers. His background as Chief Commercial Officer at ShareChat and Moj, where he led monetization, marketing, and content partnerships, highlights his versatility and strong leadership in the digital sector, making him a powerful asset for the Reliance-Disney venture.
