CHANDRASEKAR RADHAKRISHNAN JOINS AMARA RAJA GROUP AS CHIEF BUSINESS OFFICER, TO LEAD AMARON’S NEXT PHASE OF GROWTH

Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan (Chandru) has joined Amara Raja Group as Chief Business Officer, taking charge of its flagship Amaron automotive business. With leadership experience at Hero MotoCorp, Nestlé, and Coca-Cola, he brings strong digital, brand, and transformation expertise to drive innovation, growth, and customer-centric value for the conglomerate’s next phase.

In a strategic leadership move that signals its intent to accelerate growth across its flagship brands, the Amara Raja Group has appointed Chandrasekar Radhakrishnan — widely known as Chandru — as Chief Business Officer. One of India’s most diversified and future-focused conglomerates, Amara Raja has entrusted Chandru with complete P&L leadership of its automotive division, anchored by its most recognized brand, Amaron.

Chandru steps into the role with more than 20 years of experience crafting transformation-led growth across some of the world’s most successful consumer and mobility brands — including Hero MotoCorp, Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Bharti airtel, Marico, Britannia Industries, and Emaar Group. His appointment underscores Amara Raja’s sharpened focus on customer-centricity, innovation, and digitally enabled growth amid a rapidly evolving energy and mobility landscape.

At Hero MotoCorp, where he most recently served as Head of Business Growth (Emerging Mobility), Chandru led global brand strategy, digital commerce, and sales initiatives during a time when the two-wheeler major was aggressively shaping its electric mobility roadmap. Earlier at Coca-Cola India and Nestlé India, he spearheaded data-led business transformation, establishing the “Knowledge Hub” analytics platform and architecting the iconic turnaround of MAGGI — now frequently cited as one of India’s most strategic brand revivals. He also played an instrumental role in scaling Nestlé’s digital commerce footprint during the inflection point of India’s online grocery and D2C boom.

Industry observers note that Chandru’s mix of brand mastery, future-oriented strategy, and deep experience operating at scale is ideally aligned with Amara Raja’s current evolution — from a legacy battery manufacturer to a global energy and mobility solutions company. The Amaron brand, already a market leader and trusted household name in the replacement batteries segment, is poised for expansion into next-generation technologies including advanced energy storage, EV ecosystems, and digital service layers.

Widely recognized for his strategic acumen, Chandru has been named a ‘Marketing Mastermind’ by the World Consulting and Research Corporation and a ‘Champion of Excellence’ by The Ad Club and Advertising Association of India — credentials that further reflect the weight of his new mandate.

By bringing him on board, Amara Raja is sending a clear signal: it intends not just to compete, but to set the pace in the energy transition era. Chandru’s appointment is being viewed as a growth directive — not a routine leadership replacement — as the company deepens its focus on innovation, sustainability, and customer experience in India and global markets.

For Amaron — already one of the most future-ready brands in the aftermarket automotive space — this leadership move indicates the beginning of an ambitious new chapter.
