Vinod Bhanushali quits T-Series, to start his own entrepreneurial venture

After a stint of 27 years at Super Cassettes Industries (T-Series), Vinod Bhanushali steps down to set up his own boutique content company to create new age content. Bhanushali was president of global media, marketing, publishing and music acquisition at India’s largest music label. He led the marketing of over 1,000 films and was instrumental in making T-Series as India’s largest music company, one of the largest integrated motion picture studios, and creating and building the world’s biggest YouTube channel with over 190 million subscribers.

Speaking about his journey at T-Series, Bhanushali said, “Having literally started my career at T-Series, it’s an emotional moment for me as I leave the company. Whatever I know about music and films, I have learnt it all during my sole long innings in this company. I’ll forever be obliged to my mentor, Gulshan Kumar Ji, and Bhushan Kumar. With every goodbye comes a new beginning.”

He further added, “I’ve always worked like an entrepreneur, taking all decisions which were good for business, growth of the company and also for the people who work there. And BK (Bhushan Kumar) supported all my decisions. I’m excited to start something of my own, which I will announce very soon.”

About Vinod Bhanushali

Vinod Pradhan Bhanushali was the president of Global Marketing and Media Publishing for T-Series, a music record label and film production company in India founded by Gulshan Kumar in 1982 and is best known for films that include Ready, Yaariyan, Baby, Airlift, Hindi Medium, Bharat, Malang, and more. As a co-producer for several T-Series home productions, he is recognized for movies like Kabir Singh, Batla House, Saaho, Street Dancer 3D, and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior among others.

He started working in his first year of college as a clearing and forwarding agent at the Mumbai Custom Docks for one and a half years. He then joined Sahara India television network as a Marketing Assistant, where he handled hardware marketing that included state-of-the-art shooting floor with tele-climbers. Post this job, he was hired by Gulshan Kumar, the founder of T-series, where he will now complete 30 years working his way up the ladder in the company.

Being an integral part of T-Series, He has worked closely with Bhushan Kumar, the Chairman and Managing Director of T-Series, to ensure that the company maintains its position as number one in the music industry, for the past many years now. He has also led music campaigns for blockbuster films that include Kabir Singh, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Luka Chuppi, and Batla House along with some iconic movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Dil Chahta Hai, Dabangg, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, Tanu Weds Manu, Cocktail, and 3 Idiots among others.

For the past few Vinod Bhanushali was on board as a co-producer for several films. He is well-known for co-producing movies with star-studded casts, which include Pati Patni Aur Woh, Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, Thappad, Saaho, Batla House, Kabir Singh, Street Dancer 3D, and Marjaavaan among others.
