Mitsubishi Electric Hong Kong collaborates with Dentsumcgarrybowen Hong Kong to enlighten children about sustainable living through innovative technology

Introduced by Mitsubishi Electric Hong Kong, “Connecting Children with Nature” program – a CSR initiative with the aim of supporting green innovation and educating future generation on sustainable living. Dedicated to building a better world, Mitsubishi Electric has been utilising diverse technological assets to solve living and environmental issues for over a century, living up its brand promise of “Changes for the Better”.

Collaborated with the research team led by Dr. Shien-Ping Feng, Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Hong Kong, the program provides a series of activities introducing the novel invention of Direct Thermal Charging Cell (“DTCC”) which can effectively convert waste heat into usable electricity, and its application, making the learning of sustainable living a fun experience for the future generation.

The program concept was developed by its communication partner dentsumcgarrybowen Hong Kong, including identifying tech partners, engaging school community to designing the workshop. The team also supported the program implementation and management.

Detailing about the collaboration, Sky Lo, Creative Director, dentsumcgarrybowen Hong Kong, said, “Celebrating Mitsubishi Electric 100th anniversary, we presented this “Project for Good” idea and it showed how great partnership could lead to impactful and meaningful outcome. We are incredibly proud to work with Mitsubishi Electric and the University of Hong Kong, in creating an interesting learning experience for our children to do good for our planet.”

Commenting on it, Alfy Chui, General Manager, Mitsubishi Electric (Hong Kong) Limited, said, “The invention of DTCC made by Dr. Feng’s research team is a great example of putting innovation into good use for a good cause. Through this program, we support local green innovation for further development and application and hope to help children to learn about the idea of waste heat recycling and inspire them to come up with fun and creative ways to protect the environment.”
