IN BRIEF: Spikes Asia announces full jury line-up for 2021

The awards will welcome 86 jurors to assess APAC’s best creative work in the creative branded communications industry. Judging will take place in February 2021, awarding work across 23 categories. The winners of the Grand Prix and Special Awards will be announced on March 4. Drawn from 18 countries across APAC, the juries will meet online to discuss and benchmark creative excellence from across the region. Philip Thomas, Chairman, Spikes Asia, said,We are delighted to welcome a cohort of highly talented experts to judge the awards, and we are particularly pleased that this year we have reached gender parity with our juries. It’s a positive reflection of the region’s industry.”

Bumble partners popular Tollywood actors

Bumble, the women-first social networking app, is joining forces with popular Telugu actors Nivetha Thomas, Allu Sirish, and  Shraddha Srinath as part of their new integrated campaign to support single Indians as they navigate the new rules of dating in 2020. The three actors, who enjoy a considerable fan following among young millennials, shared tips on how to create a meaningful Bumble profile, and “making the first move to find meaningful connections”. Speaking about the importance of a partner during these particularly trying times, Sirish said, “Dating can be challenging at times. Considering what the world is going through today, even more so. Having said that, a partner that can help facilitate this part of lives safely and interestingly, is where Bumble comes in; and with women making the first move, it’s undoubtedly the place to be.” 

BBDO India take over creative duties for Pagarbook

BBDO India, a full-service advertising agency, has won the integrated creative mandate for Pagarbook, an employee management system, owned by the Bengaluru-based Gyankar Technologies. BBDO India will help build and scale up the brand and its marketing ecosystem through television, print, radio, social media, and other touchpoints. Sivaprasad K, Senior Vice-President, Marketing and Sales, PagarBook, said: “Our ethos is focused on solving the most challenging problems faced by the SME sector. The goodwill of India, the common Indian, is something that we strive towards, and this is where there was great synchrony with the work that BBDO India is doing.” On winning the mandate, Digvijay Shekhawat, GM and EVP, BBDO India, Bangalore, said, “We are happy to be a part of building the Bharat story, impacting the SME businesses and reducing the challenges they face.
