Fujitsu, in partnership with R/GA Japan, has unveiled a thought-provoking awareness campaign, starting with a compelling question: “Imagine a black, dirty, misshapen cake containing CO2 and PM2.5 in front of you. Would you accept a slice?” Introducing “Carbon Cakes,” a project by Fujitsu, aimed at illustrating the tangible consequences of our actions on air quality. These cakes serve as visual representations of the air we breathe, highlighting the ongoing pursuit of environmental equilibrium.
They were then laid out for an evening where the brand presented a collection of polluted cakes to โhelp us visualize the impact of our actions on the quality of our air.โ
The campaign, done with renowned pastry chef Asako Iwayanagi, leveraged Fujitsuโs technology to create a collection of cakes made with the same amount of pollution people, and the planet, take in daily.
According to theย campaign websiteย โThe ingredients in the cake reflect levels of CO2 and PM2.5 from environmental data gathered through simulations, showcasing the balance between environmental, social, and economic factors on a radar chart.โ
