Paytm, one of India’s leading fintech firms, has reportedly appointed Sidharth Shakdher as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and Business Head. This high-profile appointment comes shortly after Shakdher’s departure from Ola, where he played a pivotal role during his brief nine-month tenure.

At Ola, Shakdher was instrumental in driving key initiatives, including the launch of the company’s consumer loans division, the introduction of the Ola Loyalty program, and the rollout of the ONDC food delivery service, among other significant achievements. His strategic contributions helped diversify Ola’s offerings and strengthen its customer engagement.
In his new role at Paytm, Shakdher will collaborate closely with Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Paytm’s CEO, to drive the company’s growth while focusing on building profitability. His expertise will be critical as Paytm continues to expand its product portfolio and enhance its leadership position in the competitive fintech landscape.
With over 25 years of experience across global industries, Shakdher brings a wealth of knowledge and proven leadership. He has held executive roles at prominent companies such as Disney+ Hotstar, Samsung, Canon, HP, Xerox, and Amazon. Prior to joining Ola, Shakdher served as Executive Vice President (EVP) and CMO at Disney+ Hotstar, where he contributed significantly to the platform’s international expansion and direct-to-consumer strategy.
Shakdher’s diverse career also includes leading third-party marketplace and category marketing for Amazon in the US. Additionally, during his time at Reckitt, he spearheaded the innovation for Dettol in North America, successfully launching and establishing Dettol in the US personal care segment, a notable achievement for the brand.
