Sandeep Sangwan, former Managing Director of Castrol India, has now been appointed Global Chief Marketing Officer at Castrol. Announced by Castrol’s Global CEO, Michelle Jou, in a LinkedIn post, this new role brings Sangwan to Castrol’s UK headquarters, where he succeeds Nicola Buck, who will transition to an expanded marketing position within BP. Kedar Lele has been introduced as the new India MD, taking over Sangwan’s former position.
Since joining BP in 2012, Sangwan has held leadership roles across Europe, Asia, and Africa, gaining a wealth of experience in brand development, business transformation, and market expansion. As Castrol India’s MD from January 2020 to November 2024, he spearheaded initiatives that bolstered brand positioning and drove business transformation in a challenging and dynamic market.
With a career spanning over two decades, Sangwan’s experience includes senior roles at Gillette and P&G, where he worked across multiple markets and diverse product categories. At Procter & Gamble, he served as Global Marketing Director for Braun Male Grooming, overseeing category management and strategy across key markets such as Japan, Western Europe, China, and the United States.
Sangwan’s tenure at Gillette saw him lead as Regional Business Director for Duracell in the Middle East and North Africa and as Area Director for South Asia Exports, where he managed operations in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and the Maldives. He also served as Manager of Strategic Initiatives for Gillette across Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe, and the UK, collaborating with McKinsey to enhance annual planning and improve promotional efficiency. His deep expertise across geographies and strategic roles positions him to bring a new level of global vision and marketing leadership to Castrol in his new role as CMO.
