Bollywood actress, Bhumi Pednekar has been roped as M.A.C Cosmetics’ first brand ambassador in India. Throughout a long-term partnership, Pednekar can be seen as the face of M·A·C’s key campaigns and collections in India.
On taking up the endorsing duties, Pednekar said, “Being the first ever brand ambassador for M·A·C in India is an honour and a dream come true! As a teenager obsessed with the idea of beauty, for me to actually be able to own M·A·C products made me feel like I’ve really achieved something in life. I’m so excited to be working with a brand whose values & ethics resonate so strongly with me & I look forward to having an amazing journey with M·A·C!.”

Furthermore, the company in a press statement said that the partnership will bring Pednekar will team up with Sonic Sarwate, global senior artist M·A·C Cosmetics India, to showcase her signature and versatile looks from bold to ‘no-makeup’ makeup to vibrant and colorful ones; sharing beauty secrets, skincare regimens, and lifestyle with M·A·C fans as she currently does on her social media feed for those looking to get creative with makeup.

MAC Cosmetics, stylized as M·A·C, is a Canadian cosmetics manufacturer founded in Toronto in 1984 by Frank Toskan and Frank Angelo. The company is headquartered in New York City after becoming a subsidiary of Estee Lauder Companies in 1996. MAC is an acronym for Makeup Art Cosmetics. In September 2012, MAC Cosmetics launched in India firstly the “MAC Selena” collection in collaboration with the estate of Selena Quintanilla Perez. A petition on Change.org proposed the idea of this collaboration to MAC Cosmetics. Selena’s sister, Suzette Quintanilla, worked with MAC to create the perfect collection that really represented Selena. The collection sold out within hours not only at MAC stores but also at other retailers that carried the collection such as Nordstrom, Bloomingdales and Macy’s. Fans stood in line for hours to get their hands on the collection but some did walk away empty handed. Due to the high demand for this collection, MAC restocked the collection in December 2016. Her posthumous collaboration with MAC Cosmetics became the best-selling celebrity collection in Cosmetics History.
