Alann Lopez, previously the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Sri Lanka, has officially assumed the role of CEO, bringing with him over 25 years of experience in the advertising and media industry. Known for his strategic leadership and deep industry knowledge, Lopez’s rise to the helm of OMG Sri Lanka reflects a remarkable career journey filled with entrepreneurial ventures, creative innovation, and a commitment to excellence in media and advertising.

Lopez’s advertising career began in 1998 as a Trainee Account Executive at Thompson Associates Limited (TAL). From these early roots, he went on to work with leading agencies such as Grant McCann Erickson (now Dentsu Grant), Masters DDB, and Lowe LDB (presently MullenLowe). Each of these roles sharpened his skills and broadened his expertise across various aspects of the industry, making him a highly versatile leader.
In 2004, Lopez took a bold step and co-founded 5th Elephant, an independent agency he ran successfully for over thirteen years. His leadership at 5th Elephant demonstrated his entrepreneurial spirit, as he nurtured the agency into a respected name in the industry. After his entrepreneurial chapter, Lopez returned to OMG Sri Lanka in 2017 as COO, where his leadership proved pivotal in strengthening the agency’s operations and client offerings.
A passionate advocate for creative advertising, Lopez developed a particular interest in conceptualizing out-of-home (OOH) advertising. His inspiration often comes from his personal interests, as a lifelong supporter of Liverpool FC, an avid tennis player, and a fan of global icons like Rajinikanth, Jurgen Klopp, and Gordon Ramsay, all of whom inspire his leadership style and creative outlook.
Lopez’s influence extends beyond his work at OMG. He is a driving force in Sri Lanka’s advertising industry through his leadership of the Sri Lankan chapter of the Association of Accredited Advertising Agencies (4As). Having served on the board for over eight years, he held positions as Director and General Secretary before being appointed President in 2023. His dedication to the industry continues to shape the direction of advertising in Sri Lanka, ensuring that it remains innovative, ethical, and forward-thinking.
As CEO of Omnicom Media Group Sri Lanka, Lopez is expected to lead the company through its next phase of growth, leveraging his extensive experience, entrepreneurial background, and passion for creative excellence.
