Air India Launches ‘There is an Air About India’ Campaign Celebrating the Spirit of a Transforming Nation

Air India has launched its evocative new campaign, ‘There is an Air About India,’ a sweeping tribute to the nation’s bold, joyful, and resoundingly vibrant new identity. At a time when India is stepping confidently onto the global stage, the campaign captures the pulse of a country in motion—and the airline that proudly carries its essence to the world.

The integrated campaign spans digital platforms, print, and high-impact out-of-home (OOH) installations, aiming to visually and emotionally convey the spirit of a rising India. Developed in collaboration with creative agency McCann, the centrepiece of the campaign is a visually arresting digital film, powered by a pulsating rap-style soundtrack composed by acclaimed music director Sneha Khanwalkar, with compelling vocals from rising rap artist Aarya Jadhao.

Blending sharp transitions, lyrical storytelling, and cinematic visuals, the film journeys through the many layers of Indian life—from dynamic urban centres to serene rural landscapes. With each beat, it threads together India’s rich cultural fabric: its festivals and flavours, its spirituality and innovation, its heritage and global ambition. From traditional dance forms to cutting-edge tech parks, the narrative crescendos into a powerful anthem that proclaims: “There is an Air about India”—and Air India is proud to carry it across the skies.

This campaign comes at a defining moment in Air India’s evolution. Since its return to the Tata Group in 2022, the airline has embarked on Vihaan.AI, a five-year transformation roadmap designed to elevate Air India into a world-class global airline that mirrors the aspirations of modern India.

India’s aviation sector is one of the fastest-growing globally, with airport infrastructure doubling in the last decade and over 350 million passengers taking to the skies annually. Air India is at the forefront of this aviation renaissance. With an order of 570 new aircraft, a $400 million retrofit programme to modernize its legacy fleet, and investments in ecosystem development—including South Asia’s largest aviation training academy, a state-of-the-art MRO facility, and a dedicated flying school—the airline is reaffirming its commitment to shaping the future of Indian aviation.

With this campaign, Air India not only marks a creative milestone but reasserts its role as a carrier of national pride, ambition, and identity—flying the story of India to the world, one journey at a time.
