Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh Announces New Executive Committee

The Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh (AAAB) has unveiled its newly formed executive committee, comprising seven distinguished members dedicated to steering the organization forward. Leading the committee is Sanaul Arefeen, who has been appointed as the president. Assisting him in this leadership role is Syed Ahsanul Apon, who will serve as the general secretary. Together, the committee is poised to oversee and guide the activities of the AAAB, aiming to foster innovation and growth within Bangladesh’s advertising industry while addressing the evolving needs and challenges of its members.

The newly formed committee also features Nazim Farhan Chowdhury as vice-president, Sarah Ali as treasurer, MA Maruf as joint secretary, and members Meherun Nesa Islam and Dr. Muhammad Risalat Siddique, according to an official press release.

This executive committee was unanimously approved during the recently concluded annual general meeting of the AAAB, held in Banani. The gathering saw the participation of numerous prominent industry leaders, including Geeti Ara Safia Chowdhury, Sara Zaker, Kazi Wahidul Alam, and Yusuf Hassan, alongside representatives from approximately 60 advertising agencies, ranging from emerging firms to established players. Presiding over the meeting was AAAB President Ramendu Majumdar, with General Secretary Muneer Ahmed Khan overseeing the proceedings. The event began with a solemn moment of silence to honor the martyrs of the anti-discrimination movement, as well as to pay tribute to esteemed figures in the advertising industry, Aly Zaker and Reza Ali.

The newly elected committee has outlined a strategic focus on expanding membership, modernizing the organizational structure, and broadening the reach of the advertising industry to encompass its diverse segments, as stated in the press release.

Since Bangladesh’s independence, the advertising sector has undergone significant transformation, adapting to evolving trends and technologies. Today, numerous local agencies have extended their reach beyond national borders, marketing products and services on an international scale, especially through digital platforms. The AAAB aims to enhance the participation of advertising agencies by encouraging innovative contributions from younger generations, fostering productive dialogue with government entities, and accelerating initiatives that enable Bangladeshi agencies to operate globally and generate foreign revenue.

Established in 1978, the Advertising Agencies Association of Bangladesh (AAAB) invites directors (owners) of communication agencies engaged in TV, print, digital media, events, outdoor advertising, activations, and other mediums to join the association, representing their companies and contributing to the industry’s growth and influence.
